The Danger of Feeling Righteous

It is easy to see the sin in everybody else. It is much harder to recognize the same rebellion hiding behind our own respectability.
In Romans 2:1-11, Paul turns his attention from the obvious rebellion of the world to the dangerous self-righteousness of the person sitting in judgment over it. He exposes hypocrisy, warns us not to mistake God’s patience for His approval, and reminds us that the judgment of God is perfectly righteous and completely impartial.
